So it turns out that Lil Uzi Vert’s famous forehead diamond was briefly removed from its home.
Speaking with TMZ for a brief interview published on Saturday (Sept. 5), Uzi said that fans ripped the $24 million pink diamond from his forehead during a performance at Rolling Loud.
“I had a show at Rolling Loud and I jumped into the crowd and they kind of ripped it out,” Uzi explained. “I’m feeling good. I still have the diamond so I feel good.”
While it doesn’t seem like Uzi took the incident too seriously, by his own account, having the diamond removed in the wrong way could be very risky. In a since-deleted tweet from February, Uzi claimed that a haphazard removal of the diamond could prove fatal.
“If I don’t get it took out the right way, I could die …..,” he wrote in the post, which included a selfie. “No seriously.”
This news arrives as fans look forward to Uzi’s next project, The Pink Tape. Back in May, Uzi spoke on an album, which he said will be “legendary.”
“Bro, I’mma drop an album, bro,” he said. “I’m not gon’ lie, I’mma go so hard. Everybody that doubted me, I’m still gonna accept y’all right back ‘cause the more the merrier. … I’m not even gonna say this shit is hard because I don’t even know what’s hard no more. This shit going to be legendary though. I know that. And I’m not on no lame shit.”
“I wasn’t capping about that. … I really be on that. I don’t have to cap,” Uzi continued. “I used to have to cap because my shit wasn’t together. … I used to cap when I was broke. I ain’t got to cap no more. And I mean broke in spirit too. I ain’t talking my money. I used to cap when I was broke.”
