Nicki Minaj shared a special family moment with fans on Thursday (Sept. 2). In two Instagram posts, the first-time mom shared videos of her 11-month-old son, known to fans by his nickname Papa Bear, and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
In one clip, Nicki tried to get her son to interact with the camera. “Say hi,” she said to the tiny tot while helping him wave to the person filming. Amazingly, the infant responded to the request with what appeared to be his first word: “Hi.” A visibly shocked Nicki gasped at the camera while the person filming also reacted in amazement.
On Thursday, Nicki also shared other clips of Papa Bear sitting on her lap. The 38-year-old welcomed her first child into the world last September. According to HipHopDX, Papa Bear will celebrate his 1st birthday on Sept. 30.
Besides sharing some adorable footage of her son, fans’ eyes were also glued to Nicki’s Instagram page on Friday (Sept. 3) after she deleted her bio. Some fans believe this means the rapper is gearing up to announce her fifth studio album, which is currently untitled.
Fans also noticed that Nicki was not featured on Drake’s newly released album, Certified Lover Boy. The New York native’s voice is sampled on the record, but many were expecting to hear fresh verses from Nicki since she’s been visiting the studio with Drake recently. However, Nicki’s absence on Certified Lover Boy led some fans to theorize that the pair have been hitting the studio in preparation for her next album.
Nicki also congratulated Drake on releasing Certified Lover Boy on Friday. On her Instagram Story, she wrote, “I’m a Certified Lover Barbie #CLB. Love You [Drake]. Always & forever.”
