Boosie Badazz is promoting his recently-released film My Struggle, and he’s calling on the 6 God to assist him in getting some viewers from Canada. On Monday (Sept. 27), the Baton Rouge emcee hopped on Instagram Live and asked Drake to help him get the word out about his new project.
“Aye Drake, I need you to tell Canada fuck with my biopic,” Boosie said. “Go fuck with my film. Go on tell the six go fuck with my film. Know you got power. Help me out, nigga.”
My Struggle reportedly chronicles Boosie’s journey from a Baton Rouge native with a troubled childhood to an acclaimed emcee in the industry, a ride that included his 2012 murder trial.
Boosie has been spreading the word about his biopic before its actual release date, but following his most recent promotion of the film, he revealed that his Instagram page was taken down once again. “MY IG WAS TAKEN FOR NOTHNG AGAIN,” he tweeted on Tuesday (Sept. 28). “THEY MUST HAVE FOUND OUT I HAVE A FILM THAT IM PROMOTING. PLEASE CONTINUE TO BUY MY FILM DESPITE THIS MOVE TO STOP THE SUCCESS OF MY STRUGGLE. YALL ALL I GOT AGAINST THESE POWERFUL PEOPLE. BUY IT TWICE TO BOOST MY FIRST WEEK NUMBERS THANKS.”
“THEY SAW ME REACH OUT TO DRAKE FOR HELP SMH. GO BUY MY MOVIE 3 TIMES. FUCK THESE PEOPLE,” he added in a follow-up tweet.
Boosie’s request for Drake’s assistance comes days after Lil Duval criticized celebrities for their failure to show up for the “Wipe Me Down” star.
“Every celeb you can think of was at ‘BMF’ premiere,” the comedian wrote. “But at @hesbackagain2021 premiere, I only saw @qcmceo_p @troublemmb and @iamdesibanks. All I’m saying is we gotta support the streets the same way we support the mainstream stuff. Especially in the south. Cuz they really don’t fuck wit us they just deal wit us. #staywoke.”
