The drama surrounding Nicki Minaj’s COVID-19 vaccination tweets continues — and now reporters are allegedly harassing her family members.
On Friday (Sept. 17), the “Moment 4 Life” emcee called out Sharlene Rampersad, a reporter from Trinidad & Tobago, after she allegedly texted members of her family threatening them for interviews about Nicki’s viral vaccine tweets. “Leave my family alone you fkng goof,” she wrote the woman, in a now-deleted tweet. “Deal with me. Y’all don’t want me to say what I know. U can bully them, but deactivated when I got involved. Clown.”
“I was done discussing this shit,” Nicki wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Why are they contacting my family? Control. I kept my mouth shut when the Trinidadian health officials spoke on my name b/c I don’t want to do this to them. What I know & can say is weighing very heavy on me. #BallGate.”
The Pink Friday rapper also posted screenshots of the alleged text messages between Sharlene and her relative showing that the woman threatened to expose the person’s location to CNN if they did not speak with her.
Earlier this week, Nicki tweeted that she would not attend the Met Gala because she was not vaccinated and all attendees were required to be. She also tweeted that her cousin’s friend’s testicles became swollen from receiving the vaccine shot.
On Wednesday (Sept. 15), Nicki revealed that she was invited to the White House to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine. However, a White House official denied those allegations and said she was actually offered a phone call with a doctor who could answer her questions about the vaccine.
After receiving major backlash from her tweets, the “Seeing Green” MC’s fans, also known as The Barbz, protested outside of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The group chanted, “Nicki Minaj told me the truth. [Dr.] Fauci lied to me.”
