Kanye West has filed documents in Los Angeles to legally change his name to “Ye.” According to TMZ, a judge will most likely sign off on the name change, unless there’s evidence it is going to be used to commit fraud. As of now, it is unclear why the “All Of The Lights” emcee wants to be known by his longtime nickname.

Kanye is currently gearing up for a third Donda listening party in his hometown of Chicago. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday (Aug. 26) at the Soldier Field, which is home to the Chicago Bears. The show is set to kick off at 9 p.m. CST and will reportedly be live-streamed on Apple Music.

According to Billboard, Demna Gvasalia, creative director at Balenciaga, will serve as creative director for the event and Kanye’s personal photographer Nico Ballesteros will serve as the videographer. Ameer Sudan, one of the MC’s dear friends, told the outlet that the Chicago listening party will be “a more detailed show” than the previous ones that were held in Atlanta and will be “on a whole other level.”

As REVOLT previously reported, crews are currently rebuilding a replica of Kanye’s childhood home inside the Soldier Field. Last year, he purchased the actual home for $225,000. Donda West, his late mother, owned the house back in the early 1980s, but sold the property in 2004.

Kanye’s livestream from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta garnered more than 5.4 million viewers, which according to Billboard, set a new livestreaming record for Apple Music. He also made $7 million off of Donda merch from in-person sales.

Kanye has still not announced when Donda will officially drop on streaming services. Apple Music currently has the project listed for release on Friday (Aug. 27), which is a day after the Chicago listening party.
