Lil Nas X might have just delivered the best performance of the night at the BET Awards 2021.

On Sunday (June 27), Nas X pulled up to Los Angeles Microsoft Theatre to perform “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” a song he released a few months ago. For the performance, Lil Nas X incorporated ancient Egypt-inspired costumes, taking a cue from Michael Jackson’s legendary “Remember The Time” video. He, along with a group of background dancers, also performed parts of the same dance routine MJ did in the epic video, playing parts of the song at one point of the show.

Lil Nas X ended the performance with a steamy kiss he shared with one of his dancers. The night isn’t over, but, between the choreography and Nas X’s ability to showcase some solid vocals, it will be pretty hard for any artist to top this performance.

While Nas X had a memorable performance, there have been several epic moments unfold throughout the show so far. Lil Baby and Kirk Franklin, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Tyler, The Creator, Migos and Cardi B and more have also hit up the stage to electrify the crowd. The latter performance included an announcement from Cardi. The moment came in the form of a flashed baby bump that announced her pregnancy. She jumped onto Instagram to officially announce it moments later.

So far, a lot of dope moments have developed at this year’s BET Awards, and there’s still a good amount of time left, so there should be a lot more on the way. Fans will have to continue watching to see how things play out.
