Fashion Nova CEO Richard Saghian has just escaped a robbery attempt that ended with the death of a would-be robber.
According to a report TMZ posted today (June 25), three suspects followed Saghian as he traveled in a Rolls-Royce outside his home in Hollywood Hills. When the car parked, the suspects left the Audi they were traveling in and approached the Rolls. From there, the shootout unfolded.
Saghian was reportedly left unharmed, as he had already entered the house when the shots were fired. One of his security guards was shot in the stomach during the attempted robbery, but he managed to return fire, killing one of the suspects while leaving another injured. The third was left unharmed and has been arrested. Apparently, similar incidents have unfolded in the area, and police are looking into the possibility that this one was connected.
Speaking with CBS Los Angeles, one witness described the scene in more detail, saying that two suspects wearing ski masks approached Saghian and pulled out their guns and asked for their money and jewelry. After that, the witness says, Saghian’s security guard—a retired law enforcement officer—got out of the car and shot two of the suspects.
The suspects fled, but were eventually stopped by the LAPD. One of them was taken to the hospital, while the other died at the scene.
Saghian founded Fashion Nova back in 2006. In the years since, the brand has continued to expand, and in recent years, teamed up with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for specific fashion collections.
Saghian has yet to speak on this matter publicly, and other than the fact that he was in critical condition after the shooting, there has yet to be an update on the state of the wounded security guard.
