A suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting that took place on the set of Boosie’s music video shoot in Huntsville, Alabama. As TMZ reported, 22-year-old Christopher Kwan turned himself into authorities, who arrested him and charged him with murder.
Boosie was reportedly shooting a music video on Saturday (May 28) when gunfire rang out on set. As shots fired, the Baton Rouge star and others fled for safety, per footage of the incident. Officers responding to the incident arrived to see “between 50 and 100 people making a run for it,” TMZ reported.
A man in his 20s who struck in the shooting was also found and transported to the hospital where he initially was listed in critical condition.
Per the media outlet, he’s since passed away from his gunshot wounds, hence Kwan’s murder charge.
The incident reportedly occurred after an altercation between Kwan and the late victim.
The update of the shooting suspect’s arrest confirms Boosie’s recent claims that he was not being targeted by the gunman.
“AIN’T NOBODY TRY TO KILL ME N HUNTSVILLE AL,” he shared on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. “YALL MFS BE HAPPY TO SPREAD LIES ON ME #LOL.”
Though Boosie walked away from this shooting unscathed, he’s still in the process of recovering from a leg injury and the subsequent surgery he underwent after he was shot during a Dallas trip in November.
“I’m walking. I’m performing now,” he previously told DJ Vlad. “It ain’t 100%. I think I got on it too early. It might gotta go back in it, but I ain’t got time.”
“I’m supposed to be damn near almost tryna run yet. I ain’t running yet,” he added before assuring fans that his grind will continue regardless of the state of his wound. “It ain’t stopping nothing, you know?”
