Atlanta rapper Fabo once had the country at the palm of his hand in the 2000s with his group D4L’s catchy hits like “Laffy Taffy” and “Geek’d Up,” his joint banger with Jeezy. Now he’s captivating a new generation of fans on TikTok.
On Friday (Feb. 19), Juneelite, the creator of the #JuneBugChallenge, uploaded a video of him and the “Tatted Up” rapper doing a D4L-inspired version of the viral challenge that started on TikTok and branched out to other social media outlets. In the video, we can see June and Fabo doing the JuneBug dance in various places like the studio and by a pool. “I Have pass the torch to a new generation @juneelite,” Fabo tweeted after the video went viral.
Fans of Fabo’s music couldn’t resist sharing the hilarious clip. In the video, the “Stick!” rapper raps to his classic “Bet You Can’t Do It Like Me” and also busts out some of his classic dance moves alongside June. “@FaboGeek energy is unmatched lol love to see it,” on Twitter user said.
The latest video featuring the #JuneBugChallenge comes shortly after the hip hop world caught on to the craze and made it go viral. Numerous artists have attempted the challenge like Saweetie and even Casanova, who did the challenge while behind bars in New York. Unfortunately, Cas did the challenge on video during a visit, which is prohibited at the jail he’s being held at.
“I am unaware of the specific allegations however, this does appear to be a harmless infraction under the circumstances,” attorney James Kousouros said. “These fellas are in prison, with no visits or meaningful contact with their loved ones. It is unimaginably difficult to keep your spirits and faith under such circumstances.”
Fabo is still actively dropping new music, but it seems like he’s found his place on TikTok. Check out some fan reactions below.
