Legendary mixtape creator DJ Drama aka Mr. Thanksgiving is in the “85 South Show” trap this week. He came through to break down how he changed the mixtape game with Karlous Miller, Chico Bean and DC Young Fly.

Originally from Philly, Drama talks about how he got started and a few DJs who helped him along the way including DJs such as DJ Mars, who encouraged him to keep his stage name. Of all his mixtapes, Drama believes his most impactful ones are Trap or Die with Young Jeezy and Dedication 2 with Lil Wayne.

At the height of his career, the mixer became a “martyr for mixtape culture.” He talks about the federal raid that changed his life and how he bounced back from the adversity. He also shares the stories he has from working with some of the biggest names in rap history such as Young Jeezy, T.I., Kanye West and more.
