Boosie is pushing the release date of his forthcoming albums back out of respect for the recent killing of Young Dolph.

On Thursday (Nov. 18), the “Set It Off” emcee took to Twitter to share the news with his fans. “IM GO SET MY ALBUMS DATES BACK TO THE 25th of NOVEMBER WITH RESPECT FOR THE #dolph situations BACK TO BR & MISSISSIPPI BOTH ALBUMS DROPPING ON THE 11/25,” he tweeted. Originally, Boosie’s two LPs were slated to drop on streaming services on Friday (Nov. 19).

As REVOLT previously reported, Dolph was gunned down on Wednesday (Nov. 17) while purchasing cookies at a local bakery in his hometown of Memphis. Two masked gunmen were caught on surveillance video shooting into the establishment while the “Preach” rapper stood inside.

Dolph was originally scheduled to host his annual turkey giveaway for the community the same day he was killed. Every year, the “RNB” spitter would go to South Memphis and donate food to residents before the Thanksgiving holiday.

On Wednesday, the Memphis Police Department released a statement, calling the shooting “senseless” and saying, “our hearts go out to the Thornton family and all who were affected by this horrific act of violence.” Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis urged everyone to stay home if they did not have to be out. She also told reporters that officers would be patrolling certain areas through the night to prevent retaliation measures.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland sent his condolences to Dolph’s family and friends on Twitter and called for everyone to remain “calm” as the investigation continued. “The tragic shooting death of rap artist Young Dolph serves as another reminder of the pain that violent crime brings with it,” he tweeted on Wednesday. “My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
