The man responsible for the murder of 21 Savage’s brother was made aware of his prison sentence. As the Daily Mail reported, a U.K. judge announced that Tyrece Fuller, 22, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars following the death of 27-year-old aspiring rapper Terrell Davis-Emmons, who he stabbed to death nearly a year ago.
“This is yet another tragic example of the curse of knife crime in London,” Justice John Cavanagh said on Oct. 28 amid the sentencing announcement. “A young man’s life has needlessly been cut short by the willingness of young men to pick up a knife or blade and to use it when there are far easier and far safer and better ways of resolving the situation.”
According to multiple news outlets, Fuller, who was absent from the sentencing hearing, approached David-Emmons last November as he was taking a walk with his grandmother, and the two began to fight. Though they initially attempted to stab one another, 21 Savage’s brother retreated his knife, choosing instead to hurl threats at Fuller. He was eventually stabbed to death by the 22-year-old, who plunged a six-inch Rambo knife into his chest. Despite efforts to save his life, David-Emmons, who went by the stage name TM1way, was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the wake of the incident, Savage took to Instagram to pay homage to his younger brother in a heartfelt post. “Can’t believe somebody took you baby bro,” the “Bank Account” emcee wrote alongside a throwback photo of him and his sibling. “I know I took my anger out on you. I wish I could take that shit back.”
Fuller, who testified that the 27-year-old threatened him over a debt, was initially faced with charges of murder and manslaughter. The judge later cleared him of the murder charge; the guilty verdict and Fuller’s decade-long prison sentence are related to the manslaughter charges.
