While strolling down memory lane, Drake took some time to give props to Eminem, who he claims is “underappreciated” in the rap game. On Thursday (Oct. 28), the Certified Lover Boy emcee took it back and shared images from the “Up In Smoke Tour” on his Instagram Story.
The 2000 tour was headlined by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre and featured the likes of other West Coast artists, including Ice Cube, Nate Dogg, Warren G and Westside Connection. Eminem, who Drake specifically highlighted in the post, was also on the lineup.
“Man this guy is underappreciated @eminem,” he penned alongside one photo. In another, he showed some love to Snoop, writing, “My uncle too raw @snoopdogg.”
Drake has previously worked with Snoop and Em, who recently ended their temporary feud. The two butted heads last year after the “Lose Yourself” emcee learned that he was not included in Snoop’s choices for the top ten rappers of all time. After a diss track and a few exchanges on social media, however, Snoop Dogg admitted he was “out of pocket” for his comments and let fans know that he and Em were no longer feuding.
“Man I love Eminem. And the thing is, we love hip hop so much, we competitive,” he said during a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club. “We battle rappers, so that was supposed to trigger that in him. But we brothers, and we family so we learn to appreciate each other for what we do, and we get down and we had a long conversation about the respect that we have for each other and the way we need to talk in public about each other.”
“And I felt like I was out of pocket,” he continued. “I apologized to him, and I let him know and I’m just bettering myself. I make mistakes. I ain’t perfect, I’m Snoop Dogg.”
Snoop and Em are now slated to headline the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show alongside Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre and Mary J. Blige. Judging from Drake’s throwback photos, he may be excited to see the two hit the stage at the February event.
