Fans and admirers alike are mourning the life of Chadwick Boseman. A warrior on the screen and in real life who battled through colon cancer until Friday (Aug. 28) evening when he made his ascension above. He was 43.
In memory of the celebrated star, fans are sharing their favorite Chadwick Boseman moments, including his appearance on Saturday Night Live. In the skit, dressed as King T’Challa from Ryan Coogler’s Academy award-winning film Black Panther, he rhetorically ponders if Karen bringing her potato salad to the cookout is a good idea.
Another occasion shared by many Marvel fans is when Black Panther appeared in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame as the first superhero who showed up to help Captain America in the battle against the all-powerful Thanos, in which the audience erupted in roaring applause.
Boseman reportedly filmed his role as Black Panther while battling cancer and he still gave a piece of himself to the world every day. Even as he was awarded Best Hero at the MTV Movie Awards, the movie star gave that away too in an instant to honor James Shaw Jr., the man who stopped the Nashville Waffle House shooter in 2018.
“Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing,” Boseman said while holding up the gilded Moonman prize. “But, it’s even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life. So, I just wanna acknowledge somebody that’s here today, James Shaw Jr. If you don’t know James Shaw Jr., he fought off a gunman in Antioch, Tennessee at a Waffle House, saved lives. So, this is gonna live at your house, God bless you.”
These are just a few of many more unforgettable moments that Boseman offered the world before his departure fans are sharing all over social media. Some are funny and some will make you cry.
Among the most heart-wrenching is the iconic Black Panther scene where he emerges from a pile of flames and proclaims: “As you can see, I am not dead.”
