Scarface is opening up about how his health has been following his Coronavirus diagnosis in March. During a video interview with FOX 26 Houston last week, the “Guess Who’s Back” rapper spoke about how his kidneys have not recovered since he first tested positive for COVID-19.
“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” he said. “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”
He then went into detail about other symptoms that he is still experiencing. “I’m still a little weak,” he said. “I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But, I am glad to be alive.”
Back in March, Scarface, who is asthmatic, revealed his diagnosis to fellow Geto Boys member Willie D. “You know, like this whole three weeks have been an ordeal, Will,” he said. “Like it’s the craziest shit I’ve ever done and seen in my life. I’ve been to the point where I just felt like I was going to die, bro. I threw up so much until it was just hot sauce. Like your gasses and the shit in your stomach, your acids. I didn’t have no food in my stomach. It was just coming up like bile bro.”
The Houston emcee also revealed that he had been placed on dialysis. “I fought the COVID, double bilateral pneumonia and kidney failure, all in my house. This my new lifeline,” he said in reference to dialysis. “I gotta change my entire diet. I gotta do dialysis four times a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all of my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body. Before the COVID, I never had kidney problems.”
The REVOLT team continues to wish a speedy recovery to Scarface.
