“Punk’d” will finally head back to our television screens next week. Chance The Rapper is the new host and executive producer of the reboot, which premieres on the streaming service Quibi on Apr. 6. Chance has shared a first look at the trailer for the reboot on Instagram.
“Sometimes laughter can bring some light,” he captioned the trailer on Instagram. “I’ll be sharing some of my favorite moments from my new show #Punkd on @Quibi throughout the day. The show was such a blessing for us to shoot we had so much fun and i hope it can be a blessing to yall too. Stay safe everyone #socialdistancing.”
Some of your favorite celebrities will be getting “Punk’d” this time around. Megan Thee Stallion, Migos, Lil Nas X, Miles Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, French Montana and more will be the victims of pranks by Chance. Scott Disick will work alongside Chance to guest host one of the episodes.
In the trailer, Chance plays a prank on Megan Thee Stallion. The prank involves a man in a gorilla costume and you can clearly see that Megan is scared out of her mind.
In a press release, Chance said “‘Punk’d’ is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises. I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”
Chance continues to be booked and busy. The “Hot Shower” rapper is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ live-action Sesame Street movie, according to Collider. If the deal goes through, Chance will join Oscar winner Anne Hathaway and will reportedly play the Mayor’s aide.
In the Sesame Street movie, the characters are mysteriously expelled from their neighborhoods. They have to rely on the history show host Sally Hawthorne, played by Hathaway, to prove that Sesame Street actually existed.
