Nick Cannon and MTV’s “Wild N’ Out Live Tour” is the latest string of events to be postponed amidst growing concern over the coronavirus pandemic. The tour would have kicked off last night (March 12) in Baltimore. However, an executive order from Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan canceled the MTV crew’s appearance.
“Earlier today, Maryland’s Governor Hogan issued an Executive Order prohibiting large gatherings and events as means of protecting public health, welfare and safety,” Baltimore venue Royal Farms Arena announced on their website. “Therefore, tonight’s Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out LIVE tour stop in Baltimore has been postponed. Information about the rescheduled date will follow in the immediate future.”
Furthermore, according to The Source, the entire tour has been postponed due to several states limiting large gatherings, in the hopes of controlling the spread of coronavirus. So far, the tour’s management has not offered a statement about the tour’s rescheduling, but the official website has slapped “POSTPONED” over the tour’s promotional image.
Tickets for the tour were being distributed by Live Nation Entertainment, which has also postponed all of its upcoming tours.
According to Billboard, Live Nation is “postponing current touring arena shows through the end of the month,” while “select shows will play out over the next few days, but the remainder of the concerts will be postponed.”
“At this time, we collectively recommend large scale events through the end of March be postponed. We continue to support that small-scale events follow guidance set by their local government officials,” Live Nation said in a joint statement with AEG. “We feel fortunate to have the flexibility to reschedule concerts, festivals, and live events as needed, and look forward to connecting fans with all their favorite artists and live entertainment soon.”
The “Wild N’ Out Live Tour” was set to feature Cannon, Karlous Miller, Emmanuel Hudson, Justina Valentine, Hit Man, Conceited, DJ D-Wreck, Pretty Vee and more, Currently, it’s unclear when the tour’s rescheduled dates will take place.
Evidently, the “Wild N’ Out” cast is just as disappointed in the news as their fans. See some of these reactions on social media below.
