Seemingly the end of a regifted rap beef, Nick Cannon has announced himself the winner in his longtime feud against Eminem.
“Eminem I won!!!!” Cannon wrote on Twitter on Thursday (Dec. 12). “This has been fun now back to your regularly scheduled programs.”
Despite being a pretty one-sided feud, Twitter users have mostly leaned toward declaring Eminem the reigning champion.
The two MCs’ bad blood was first reignited when Em name-dropped Cannon in a diss verse on Fat Joe’s track, “Lord Above.” The Mary J. Blige-assisted song appeared on Fat Joe’s Family Ties album, which dropped on Dec. 6.
“I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note/ But that other dude’s whipped, that pu**y got him neutered,” Em rapped in the song, referring to Cannon and Carey’s 8-year marriage. “Tryna tell him his chick’s a nut ‘fore he got his jewels clipped/ Almost got my caboose kicked/ Fool, quit, you not gon’ do sh*t/ I let her chop my balls off too before I lost to you, Nick.”
After initially saying the verse wasn’t worthy of a response, Cannon then released two diss tracks aimed at Em, “The Invitation” and “Pray For Him.”
“Call Kim, somebody get Hailie/ And that other kid you raisin’ that ain’t even your baby/ Took a page out of Drake book, this might get a Grammy/ We going back to back ‘til you respond on the family/ My baby-mama killed you off a decade ago/ You’re still cryin’ about it, bi**h, now who really the hoe?” Cannon spit, later accusing the “Not Afraid” rapper of being gay.
The beef generated several outside opinions, with 50 Cent calling Cannon’s track “trash” and deeming him a “punk.” Joyner Lucas also rallied to Em’s side, recruiting 50 Cent, Royce Da 5’9”, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Tech N9ne and more for a potential counter-diss song.
Fat Joe declined to pick a side, calling Cannon a “good guy” and Em the “G.O.A.T.”
While Cannon has declared himself a winner, Twitter has mixed opinions. Find some fan tweets below.
