Saweetie said she’s feeling “disappointed” and “disrespected” after her label, Warner Bros. Records, released her new collaboration with Doja Cat prematurely. The song — called “Best Friend” — arrived to streaming services on Friday (Dec. 4), which the “Tap In” rapper says was done without her permission.

On Twitter, Saweetie called out the record label for prioritizing money over her art.

“I am extremely disappointed in my label WBR for prematurely releasing a single I was so excited about. I feel disrespected,” she wrote early on Friday morning. “I’m hands on with ALL of my creative & had such a dope rollout for ‘best friends’. The thirst for clout & $ is real & it overrides the artists’ art.”

To make matters worse, Saweetie also claimed Warner had also released the “wrong version” of the track.

“We put so much work into the visual & we shot for days for this super cinematic girl anthem. And for this to happen? wow….” she added.

It appears that Warner took note of Saweetie’s tweets, as “Best Friend” was removed from streaming services later in the day. However, the Bay Area artist said she still felt like her hard work had been diminished by the sneaky move. Fans flooded the comments on her posts to offer their support, which she thanked them for.

“Icy gang always dealing with the bs with me no matter what it means so much. I LOVE y’all,” she wrote. “I’m bout to fix this nail & go to sleep. Goodnight.”

Saweetie’s label woes arrive as she prepares to release her upcoming album, Pretty B*tch Music. Just last week, the rapper shared an animated clip for “Tap In” and dropped off her collaboration with Jhene Aiko, “Back to the Streets,” which will appear on her album.
