In 2020’s latest bizarre twist, Bill Cosby has given a “Thank You Thursday” Twitter shoutout to Boosie Badazz to thank him for his “support.” The disgraced entertainer took to Twitter on Thursday (Dec. 10) to share the message, which was also accompanied by a photo of Boosie and well wishes for the rapper’s health as he recovers from gunshot wounds.
“On this 10th day of December 2020…I will pay homage to those who have supported me and my family, simply by saying, thank you,” Cosby, who has been incarcerated since 2018, wrote. “The first person to be recognized on Thank You Thursday is Rapper [Boosie].”
“Thank you for your support & I’m praying for you to have a speedy recovery and for your mobility to be restored,” he added. “Again, thank you very much. #ThankYouThursday #ThankYouBoosie #GetHealthyBoosie.”
Social media users were understandably surprised by the tweet; however, Boosie has lobbied for Cosby’s freedom in the past. After a mugshot of Cosby wearing a mask went viral back in October, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper demanded Cosby be released on Twitter.
“THEM HOES LYIN FREE BILL COSBY ASAP,” he tweeted at the time.
Cosby’s legal team later responded to the viral mugshot by sharing another picture of “The Cosby Show” star, in order to “reassure his family and supporters that he is doing ok during this pandemic.”
A month before that, Boosie also teased the idea of starting a “Free Bill Cosby” petition.
After being accused of rape and sexual misconduct by dozens of women, Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2004. The actor was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. His earliest possible release date is Sept. 25, 2021
So far, Boosie hasn’t responded to Cosby’s “Thank You Thursday” message. See the tweet below.
