Nicki Minaj is making her return with a new collaboration. On Thursday (Oct. 15), the Queens native announced that she would appear on an upcoming remix of Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas.” The new single arrives tonight.
“Midnight #WholeLottaChoppas,” she tweeted along with the track’s cover art.
The new single will mark the first time Nicki and Sada have teamed up and follow her recent collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, “Expensive,” and A$AP Ferg and MadeinTYO, “Move Ya Hips.” News of the “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” also arrives a few weeks after Nicki gave birth to her first child, as was confirmed by her mother, Carol Maraj.
“Thank you Lord for Blessing my daughter [Nicki Minaj] with a beautiful bundle of joy!” her mom wrote in a congratulatory Instagram post. “You have always been a Blessing to myself and your family, and now you have received one of the best Blessings from God. ‘Children are a gift from the Lord. They are a reward from Him.’ Psalms 127:3 #glamma let us rejoice!!!!”
Nicki reportedly welcomed the new baby with her husband, Kenneth Petty, in Los Angeles on Sept. 30. However, she hasn’t made any public appearances since then or revealed the baby’s name or gender.
Fans were sure Nicki’s next collaboration would be with Cardi B after a supposed new track leaked online. The song featured vocals from both New York rappers, production from Mike WiLL Made-It and was allegedly called “Lavish.” Cardi appeared to egg on the rumors by tweeting that she has a new collaboration on deck.
“Since ya mad ..imma give ya something mad to be about,” the “WAP” artist tweeted. “This next single and coll- ….Gonna have ya sick ….since ya here.”
For Sada Baby, the “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” will follow his collaboration with Young D the Champion, “Money Talks.” The original “Whole Lotta Choppas” has become a viral hit for the Detroit native and was even played during the recent NBA Finals.
