This Friday (Sept. 24), G-Eazy will unveil his fourth studio LP These Things Happen Too, which is led by well-received singles like “Moana” with Jack Harlow, “Hate The Way” with blackbear, “Running Wild (Tumblr Girls 2)” with Kossisko, and “Breakdown” with Demi Lovato. Recently, the Oakland emcee headed back to his Bay Area stomping grounds to play These Things Happen Too for fans and peers alike — some recap photos of that event can be seen on his Instagram account.

Over the weekend, G-Eazy added to the aforementioned drops with his latest drop “Let It Be (Freestyle),” a collaboration alongside OG Maco that sees the artists delivering some of their best introspective bars to date:

“My OG told me, ‘Let that shit out, it’s no good to hide this,’ then I’ma need some Casamigos and ‘bout two hours to write this, some flower shop and a lighter to light this, one in a billion, on my momma, you ain’t met no one like this, no matter how you cut the cake or however you slice this, is it addiction reliance, is it a problem, or crisis? Is it dependency? I need a plug, like I’m an appliance…”

Upon its release, These Things Happen Too will follow last year’s commercial mixtape Everything’s Strange Here, a more experimental effort that saw G-Eazy delving into more alternative genres. Prior to that, he liberated his third album The Beautiful & Damned in 2017, a 20-track body of work that saw a slew of collaborations from Halsey, Charlie Puth, A$AP Rocky, Cardi B, Kehlani, E-40, Sam Martin, Anna of the North, and more. The Beautiful & Damned was a top-three success on the Billboard 200 thanks to 122,000 first week album equivalent units, subsequently scoring G-Eazy a Platinum certification in the United States. Fans later received a deluxe edition of said album with two additional songs.
