Fivio Foreign returns with new visual for “Story Time”

Fivio’s latest is expected to appear on his forthcoming release ‘B.I.B.L.E.’

It’s been well over a year since Fivio Foreign began building momentum towards his official debut LP, said to be titled B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth). In that time frame, we’ve already received a project’s worth of loose cuts, including “Move Like A Boss” with Young M.A, “13 Going On 30,” “Bop It” with Polo G, “Trust,” “Self Made,” “Unruly,” and “Creepin” with Rowdy Rebel. The Brooklyn emcee has also been pretty busy as a featured artists, having collaborated with the likes of Famous Dex, PHresher, DreamDoll, Nas, Funkmaster Flex, Toosii, Hit-Boy, and the late King Von.

Today (Sept. 10), Fivio adds to that with “Story Time,” a Say Beats, 808k_antares, and AyoAA-produced cut that sees him telling a vivid tale about a youth who’s gone through some unfortunate circumstances:

“Let me tell a little sad story about this young boy, grew up, no pops in the crib, that nigga momma workin’ so she couldn’t really show him no love when he was a kid, he didn’t even mean to do that incident, he was only eighteen when he got caught that bid, he in and out of jail, he ain’t know how to move, he ain’t know how to fight, he ain’t know how to lose, he walked in the spot, they told him, ‘Strip, cough, squat’…”

“Story Time” also comes to life with a matching visual, making the lyrics all the more hard-hitting with every line rapped throughout. It’s definitely a departure from the XXL Freshman’s usual boastful subject matter, and shows a level of versatility not seen in many of his peers.

Upon its eventual release, B.I.B.L.E. will follow Fivio’s 2020 EP 800 BC, a body of work released during COVID-19’s earlier months. That project saw eight songs and contributions from Lil Tjay, Lil Baby, Quavo, and Meek Mill.
