Kawhi Leonard revealed back in May that he and longtime friend Mikey Williams were developing a music project titled Culture Jam. In addition to the overall shock of seeing the NBA champion step outside of his usual quiet demeanor, fans also got a preview of what to expect via “Everything Different,” a wavy, melodic cut that features YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Rod Wave.
Today (July 22), he drops off the next taste of the forthcoming Culture Jam. Gunna and Polo G link up for the freshly released “Waves,” which sees them feeding off of each other’s flows effortlessly:
Jumped off the porch , plush, two-door Porsche/ Got vibes in New York, I got stars in the Royce, My style is Dior (Dior), got wild freaky hoes (Wild freaky hoes)/ Keep codeine and pour (Pour), the wave with no shore (Wave)
Every move I make, I gliss’ (Gliss’), ice my neck and wrist (Ice)/ D&G down to the kicks (D&G), made your ho send me a flick (Yeah)/ On a light day, I’m throwin’ a nick’, she wan’ show me her ass and tits (Ass and tits)/
Gunna has been in a collaborative mood this year, as he joined his peers for tracks like “Paid The Fine” with Young Thug, Gunna, YTB Trench, and Lil Baby and also linked up with Internet Money, Don Toliver, and Lil Uzi Vert for “His & Hers.” Most recently, he can be heard on the deluxe version of Doja Cat’s freshly released Planet Her. He and Young Thug had a hit on their hands when Young Stoner Life’s Slime Language 2 dropped earlier this year and fans immediately flocked to their “Ski” collab track.
Last month, Polo G blessed the world with his third studio album Hall of Fame, which sees 20 tracks with additional assists from Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, G Herbo, Rod Wave, DaBaby, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, Pop Smoke, and more. The project has proven to be his biggest to date, landing him his first number one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 143,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
