Phora is officially back with his newest single “Numb Pt. 2,” a continuation of his original “Numb” track he unleashed back in 2017. The track is an honest update of what he has been going through during this time in his life, coping in ways that help him numb the pain. The accompanying intense visual opens up with Phora in a dark room, gripping a heart with his hand soaked in its blood as he delivers his vulnerable lyrics:
I haven’t spoke about these feelings and I think I need to, I see people say they’re happy but their smile is see-through/ I hear people say they love me but I don’t believe you, that’s just what happens when that kept you, live and leaves you/ See I’m just scared I’ll never love again
Why can’t you put it past us and love me for who I am?/ I’m startin’ to feel like I’ve been gettin’ closer to my sins/ And this devil on my shoulder is the only that’s left but/ There was times I would feel too deep, I would start to panic
After teasing fans with his “Loaded Gun” visual a few months ago, Phora officially unleashed his latest project heartbreak hotel. Equipped with seven tracks and a feature from Destiny Rogers, the new project speaks to love, heartbreak, mental health and perspectives on emotional hardships.
In November, Phora released his album With Love II via his own imprint Yours Truly Records, now an independent artist after spending a chunk of his career with Warner Records. In celebration of the release, he shared an official lyric video of one of the stand out tracks “This Weekend” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The project was preceded by singles like “Stars In The Sky” feat. Jhene Aiko, “Cupid’s Curse” feat. Kehlani, and the visual for “Traumatized” feat. Toosii.
