Normani has finally unleashed her brand new single “Wild Side” today (July 16), and enlisted the one and only Cardi B for the assist. This is the first collaboration between the two stars and the single marks the beginning of Normani’s highly-anticipated era for her upcoming debut album.

The track drops alongside a Tanu Muino-directed visual, who also recently directed Cardi B’s “Up”). Familiar team members are a theme here for this release, as the video is choreographed by the renowned Sean Bankhead, who also choreographed Normani’s well-loved “Motivation” video from 2019. On the song, Normani taps in to her wild side:

For fans who follow Normani’s career closely, the track doesn’t come as a complete surprise. A snippet of the track was posted to Normani’s social media on Feb 5, 2021, with the caption, “know it’s been awhile.” Five months after the teaser was posted, Normani deleted all of her posts from her Instagram account, except the teaser video.

Her co-star Cardi made sure to feed into the excitement, telling fans this is the beginning of a new era for Normani. I feel like this is Normani’s big comeback and I want you guys to treat it like it’s her birthday. This is literally her birthday this song, this everything, is amazing and I am just so proud of her,” Cardi said. “I’m just like the support team. I’m the support team, okay? You guys are gonna see Normani in a different light. This is amazing”
