Over the weekend, Njomza unleashed her brand new EP LIMBO. The project showcases production from Tommy Brown, Skrillex, and more, and features some standout R&B acts like Metro Marrs (Quality Control), Ari Lennox, Russ, and WurlD. Paired with the new release is her official visual for the Ari Lennox-assisted “Tidal Wave.” On the track, Ari opens up the song with her sweet vocals about not being able to get someone off your mind:
Lately, it’s been hard to sleep, you live in my dreams/ I’ve been drinking, no celebration, all I do is think of you, ooh-ooh (Ooh, ooh, ooh)/ Oh no, here I go, swear I’m never gon’ change/ Solo, solo, sinkin’ deep in my brain, Ooh, ooh, I need you
Njomza previously shared two tracks from the EP, “winter in atlanta” featuring Russ and “over and done” to prep fans for the project. Back in December, Njomza also presented her newest single “Lucky,” a vulnerable track about appreciating the ones closest to you while you can. She returned a few months later to bless the ears of her fans with a live acoustic rendition of the song. She is ready more than ever for this next chapter and sees it as a chance to elevate. “I like to switch it up” says Njomza via press release. “I don’t want to have a recognizable sound. [I’d rather be] fresh every time I do something. My music will evolve just as I do [with] each project representing a different chapter and time in my life.”
In regards to other recent collabs, Ari recently joined Queen Naija for their joint track and video “Set Him Up.” Last year saw Ari Lennox bless her fans with a remix EP of her 2019 debut LP Shea Butter Baby, recruiting Doja Cat, Smino, and Durand Bernarr for alterations of three high quality album cuts.
