Back in October, Yung Bleu released his latest body of work Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions, which contained the runaway hit “You’re Mines Still” — a track that saw new heights thanks to a Drake-assisted remix, which landed on a deluxe edition of Love Scars within the same month. Since then, the Mobile, Alabama rising star has continued to liberate infectious singles and collaborations like “Come Over” with Ann Marie, “Build A Bae” with Muni Long, “Ghetto Love Birds,” and — most recently — “Thieves In Atlanta” with Coi Leray. This past weekend, Yung Bleu continues his momentum via his latest drop “Baddest,” which sees him alongside Chris Brown and 2 Chainz.
Produced by Hitmaka, OG Parker, Romano, and Mike Woods, “Baddest” is essentially an adults-only ode to that special somebody in the club post-quarantine:
“See you with your friends, you got a brand new Benz, you got a nigga blowin’ up your phone, you ain’t thinkin’ ‘bout him, she just wanna turn up with her girls, get the stress off, and I just wanna take her to the room, get that dress off, even though I’m in a good mood, I fuck you like I’m pissed off, and don’t give me no attitude, you gon’ make my dick soft…”
Prior to Love Scars, Yung Bleu built his sizable fanbase off the successes of his Investments and Bleu Vandross series, working with the likes of Rich Homie Quan, Derez De’Shon, K Camp, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Juicy J, Blac Youngsta, PnB Rock, DeJ Loaf, and Boosie Badazz — the last of whom signed Bleu to his Bad Azz Music Syndicate imprint. Given the new single, it’s hopeful that a new body of work lies somewhere on the horizon.
Until then, you can enjoy Yung Bleu & Co’s “Baddest.”
