In a couple of weeks, Sleepy Hallow will release his latest body of work titled Still Sleep?, a 14-track offering led by the singles “2 Sauce,” “2055,” and “Tip Toe.” Presumably looking to keep the momentum going, the Brooklyn drill artist unveils a two-in-one visual for “Chicken” and “Mi No Sabe,” two hard-hitting cuts that see production from Great John. As with previous efforts, both songs see Sleepy Hallow keeping things very street on wax:
“I used to trap, flip, we doing shit you imagine, ran up at Saks Fifth, I spent a brick on the fashion, my body different, that’s all she could say when we kick it, I just seen the opps, had them dodging and dippin’, popped a Perc’ and that shit had me trippin’, run up, I get you done up, I ain’t trusting a soul, that’s a set up, told lil’ bro let off shots, never let up, if they slip then we slide, get wet up, you ain’t really outside, then shut up…”
The aforementioned clip for “Chicken/Mi No Sabe” sees Sleepy Hallow vacationing in La Perla, Puerto Rico, playing dominoes with local residents, riding through the jungle with his crew on four-wheelers, and more — Great John also makes a quick cameo for his producer tag.
Still Sleep? will follow last summer’s Sleepy For President, which saw 12 tracks with contributions from Sheff G, Fivio Foreign, Fousheé, and Jay Critch. 2020 also saw Sleepy Hallow liberate a quick-strike EP titled The Black House.
