Back in February, Shordie Shordie and Murda Beatz joined forces to create the 12-track body of work Memory Lane, a well-received offering that saw an additional appearance from Trippie Redd. Since then, the Maryland-to-Fort Erie connection have liberated a slew of dope videos from said project for “Doctors,” “Love,” “Same Niggas,” “Ride With Shordie,” and “Seattle.” This past weekend, fans received a new clip for “No Jewelry,” which sees additional production from MARS and Young Cutta and features the type of clever wordplay that’s earned Shordie the nickname Captain Hook:
“…she don’t wanna wear no watch, got the time reminding her, gotta thank me for the past, for the time, me finding her, then you thank me for the rest, for the guns that I brought to the party, the hoes that I brought to the party won’t leave me alone…”
The FeelMyArt-directed visual shows Shordie Shordie and Murda Beatz living it up in Miami, beginning with a shot of the two with some friends on an airport runway. Viewers can also see a gang of bikers doing tricks in the background, some fun moments on the beach, and plenty of high-end cars and — ironically enough — iced-out jewelry throughout.
Prior to Memory Lane, Shordie Shordie made infectious cuts as part of Peso Da Mafia with Lor Dee and PDM Purp, including “Money Man, “Look At Me,” and “TSAY.” Breaking out on the solo front, Shordie then liberated Captain Hook — which boasts the hit record “Bitchuary” — and >Music in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Eventually, Shordie crossed paths with super-producer Murda Beatz, who’s already made himself at home on the Billboard charts thanks to collaborations alongside the likes of Nicki Minaj, Drake, Travis Scott, Migos, and Cardi B, among many others.
