After some solid singles over the past few months, Shordie Shordie and Murda Beatz finally liberate their joint album Memory Lane, which contains 12 cuts and a single feature from Trippie Redd. The high-profile nature of his project is expected to bring Shordie to the next level in career, after having already earned a name for himself as the next artist and songwriter to watch for.
In addition to the full-length body of work, the Baltimore-to-Fort Erie duo have also liberated a visual for “Same Niggas,” which sees additional production from J Diesel, Yung Lan, and TnTXD and is centered around Shordie’s attempts to whoo his love interest:
“Inside, I really wanna talk to you, tell me where you at, no bus fare, I’d rather walk to you, so I can think about the shit I wanna say, and by the time I get to you, I’d probably start an argument, like fuck it, I walked here, tears shedding like dog hair/
I give her that D, I give her that D, she like, “Bring that log here,” like, why you here, why am I here? Like, I don’t belong here, like, let me think, plеase close that door, this ain’t no song herе/”
Prior to Memory Lane, Shordie Shordie made waves as a member of Peso Da Mafia alongside Lor Dee and PDM Purp, creating bonafide hits like “Money Man, “Look At Me,” and “TSAY.” As a solo artist, he released the well-received projects Captain Hook — which featured his own breakthrough single “Bitchuary” — and >Music in 2018 and 2020, respectively, via his partnership with Warner Records. Then came Shordie’s connection to Murda Beatz — a now-globally known producer that’s topped the charts with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Drake, Travis Scott, Migos, and Cardi B.
