Back in December, DJ Scheme dropped off his FAMILY album, and then circled back around at the top of this year to release the official deluxe version. Today, fans received the official visual for the Joey Bada$$-assisted “Trust Nobody” track. As hinted by the title, Joey spends his time on the song speaking to his feelings about people’s intentions and reflecting on his own mental health:
Tell me, who can I trust if I don’t trust myself? Fallin’ victim to lust and needed someone else/ I run away from my problems knowin’ I need some help (I need some help)/ Been fuckin’ with these drugs, fuckin’ with my mental health/ At first sight it may appear like I’m livin’ life/ But beneath the surface, I know that I’m not alright (No, I’m not alright)/ Tunnel vision got me movin’ closer to the light/ Some dumb decisions from the past kept me up at night (Me up at night)/ Like givin’ n***as thе second chance they ain’t dеserve
The aforementioned FAMILY track features a robust roster of assists, including names like Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, Lil Keed, $NOT, Lil Mosey, Jackboy, and many more. The projected was preceded by his “Soda” single featuring Cordae, Ski Mask The Slump God, and Take A Day Trip. Most recently, Joey Bada$$ celebrated his birthday in January by dropping a new track and video “Let It Breathe.” He was also featured on Statik Selektah’s “Keep It Moving” alongside Gary Clark Jr. and Nas, linked up with WESTSIDE BOOGIE for “Outside,” and also dropped off his 3-track package titled The Light Pack back in July. In 2021, he joined Lous and The Yakuza for their “Amigo” track.
