Surely, Burna Boy is still somewhere celebrating his recent Grammy award win for Best Global Music Album — an achievement earned via his fifth studio LP Twice As Tall. Released back in August, the project saw additional features from Youssou N’Dour, Naughty by Nature, Sauti Sol, Chris Martin, and Stormzy, and landed on a wealth of different charts around the world.

This week, the Nigerian star unveils a new video from the project for “23,” a Skread-produced number that sees Burna motivated by a certain NBA icon:

“I go be all I can be, oluwaburna ma pami, the music make me feel I be Jordan…/”

Clarence Abiodun Peters, the visual begins with Burna Boy showing a well-deserved plaque to a packed crowd, before he’s seen lying in a room while Michael Jordan’s legendary jersey number is seen throughout. Elsewhere, different women work on their own relative crafts, including a couple of basketball players (one of whom is handicap), a budding music producer, and more. Add an a basketball court scene and some dope footage of Burna Boy post-Grammy win, and you have a complete body of work that is certain to inspire all.

Despite working through a pandemic, Twice As Tall saw Burna Boy working closely with Diddy, who took on the executive producer role and became a major part of its creation. As previously reported by REVOLT, Diddy explained the collaboration, which took place in spite of an “eight-hour time difference via file transfers and Zoom calls”:

“He, as every artist, he wants his music to be heard by the world. He doesn’t care about crossing over. You know, he’s not trying to get hot. He’s not, like, ‘I want to be a big pop star’ — he’s already a star. He wants his music to be heard, his message, his people.”
