Everyone’s favorite new duo has done it again. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, together known as Silk Sonic, has unveiled their latest single “Smokin’ Out The Window” from their forthcoming highly anticipated project An Evening with Silk Sonic. Paired with a visual showing off their performance skills, the two bounce off of each other’s energy perfectly as soon as the opening drums hit:
Must’ve spent thirty five, forty five thousand up in Tiffany’s (Oh, no)/ Got her badass kids runnin’ ‘round my whole crib like it’s Chuck E. Cheese (Woah)/ Put me in a jam with her ex-man in the UFC, can’t believe it (Can’t believe it) I’m in disbelief
This bitch got me payin’ her rent, payin’ for trips, diamonds on her neck, diamonds on her wrist, and here I am all alone (All alone)/ I’m so cold, I’m so cold you got me out here, Smokin’ out the window (Smokin’ out the window), singin’ “How could she do this to me?”
As previously reported by REVOLT, Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars, who revealed their new Silk Sonic formation back in February, shared the news of the album delay in a recent cover feature with Rolling Stone. While An Evening With Silk Sonic was originally slated to arrive this fall, the pair’s debut album has now been pushed back to January 2022.
The new single was preceded by other offerings such as “Skate” and “Leave The Door Open.” The latter was very well-received, easily soaring to the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. It was recently featured on Barack Obama’s summer playlist and has since been certified platinum. The also came together to perform the record at the 2021 Grammys as well as the BET Awards.
