Back in December, Pressa blessed the masses with his latest body of work Gardner Express, a seven-track EP that saw contributions from Taliban Glizzy, Jackboy, D-Block Europe, Sleepy Hallow, Sheff G, and Flipp Dinero. Today (Nov. 3), the Toronto rapper upgrades Gardner Express with a deluxe edition that adds on seven new songs — including a remix of “Attachments” alongside Coi Leray, who may or may not be Pressa’s current flame outside of music. In addition, Swae Lee and Rowdy Rebel provide their talents on “Cool, Calm & Collected” and “Dead Body,” respectively.
As previously reported by REVOLT, another well-received single that ended up on Gardner Express (Deluxe) is the Itsnelll-produced “Second Hand Smoke,” which sees Pressa eschewing another man’s woman for more maleficent interests, among other topics related to street life:
“I play my role, but once I rolled the dice, I rolled it back, I knew I won, and I don’t want your girl, that bitch a nat, want all the smoke, only time a nigga deal with second hand’s a brick of coke, will turn a teenage boy into a man, I kid you not, I seen my life evolve around a rock, fill up my Glock, and I be with the Wassa, hundred shots, fuck up the pot…”
During an interview with REVOLT’s “The Breakfast Club,” Pressa balked at the idea that fans only know him because of his publicized relationship with Coi Leray:
“Nah, Y’all know me for that. … America, that’s what y’all prolly know me as right now, but, where I’m from, I’m a legend. Like Canada, even Europe, you know? I’m a super legend back there. … People come up to me, ‘oh, Coi Leray’s boyfriend,’ and stuff like that, but, they just don’t know me.”
Press play on Pressa’s “Gardner Express (Deluxe).”
