Last month, rising star Lexxicon dropped off the single “Power Over Me,” an infectious number that’s hard not to move your body to upon pressing play. Looking to keep that momentum going, the Toronto talent followed that with “Bubble Everywhere,” an Artafacts Music-backed cut that keeps with much of the same vibes — complete with subject matter that’s just as perfect for the bedroom as it is for the dance floor:

“Go wild when yuh ride dat, twist left pon di bike back, then swerve, swerve, swerve, swerve, like a race track, no guessing, no stressing, just caressing and sweating, I’m suggesting, make your loving be my blessing, altogether, extra pressure, that’s the feeling, nothing better, Nice like treasure, hot like weather, feel my fever, forever, throw it up, bounce back, bassline, soundtrack, body good, well stack, tear it up, wolf pack…”

Both “Bubble Everywhere” and “Power Over Me” are said to be taken from Lexxicon’s forthcoming body of work Tropicon Islands, which will follow the five-track EP Bashment SZN, which made landfall back in April and saw additional contributions from Danny Rozco and MC Sulek. Prior to that, he liberated Bashment Trap House in 2020, a 15-song effort with assists from I.P. The Poet, Relly, jideo, Haf N’ Haf, T-Bai, Dynesti, StarStatus, GETCHNAH, and Jewelz.

Lexxicon derives his musical style from a variety of genres, including Afrobeats, dancehall, reggaeton, pop, hip hop, and R&B. All of which puts him in a realm shared by other Canadian frontrunners like like Tory Lanez, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Roy Woods, as well as international artists like Tion Wayne and Stefflon Don.
