It’s only been some months since we received PARTYNEXTDOOR’s third studio album PARTYMOBILE, which saw 15 cuts and features from Bad Bunny, Rihanna, and OVO boss Drake. Perhaps looking to hold fans over until the next official release, the Canadian star unveils a new EP titled PARTYPACK, which contains seven previously heard tracks and collaborations with Lil Yachty, Quavo, and the late Nipsey Hussle.
One standout from the new project is a particular past leak titled “Things & Such (Kehlani’s Freestyle),” which, as the title suggests, is a reflective ode to his ex-girlfriend:
“Calling me to say you want this, you lonely at home, thinking mad s***, f***–f***–f*** me, I know you a savage, yeah, peelin’ back the layers like a mother***in’ cabbage, fiendin’ girl, don’t keep no secrets from me, who did you love that I gotta shake hands with?/
Who did you love that I gotta make plans with? If we not standing, it’s not a one-night stand and I’m not romantic, I’m not with the antics, no … damn, I wish I took things slower…/”
PARTYNEXTDOOR first made his official introduction on the scene with his self-titled debut EP in 2013, which was followed by the Gold-certified albums PARTYNEXTDOOR Two and PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 in 2014 and 2016. As previously reported by REVOLT, the singer-songwriter spoke on how its easier for him to craft songs for his peers:
“I’d say it’s easier to write for other people than to write for myself… I can go into imagination with other people. For myself, it’s more of like, I’ve gotta admit it and I gotta tell the truth and nothing but the truth because I can’t hide that. It’s easier to write for other people. I prefer writing for myself because I like the challenge.”
