Earlier this month (Oct. 8), Curren$y teamed up with Smitty Beatz and 808-Ray for his latest album Still Stoned On Ocean, the sequel to 2016’s Stoned On Ocean. The Jet Life head honcho’s latest body of work comes with 11 songs, along with a couple of notable collaborations alongside Jim Jones and Fendi P. Mere days after the legendary emcee dropped off a video for “Game Tapes 2,” fans can now check out another for “High,” which sees him rapping about whips, retirement, and — of course — weed:
“I still never seen the pyramids up close, so much more to do, so much room to grow, if your rhyming is timeless, thеn you’re never too old, yo, I been thinking ‘bout letting this go, dreaming retirement, buying a boat, learning photography somewhere off the coast, million miles away from reduced lunch and sloppy joes, shoebox full of stolen GI Joes, my homie gave me my first Starter jacket, it came with a bullet hole…”
As with past clips, the one for “High” sees Curren$y simply relaxing and living life, enjoying a smoke while showing off one of his prized automotive possessions. Elsewhere, he can also be seen writing and recording the track in the studio.
Make no mistake about it — Curren$y stand as one of the most prolific hip hop stars to date. In addition to Still Stoned on Ocean, this year alone has also seen February’s The Collection Agency, June’s Welcome to Jet Life Recordings 2 with his Jet Life collective, August’s Highest in Charge with Trauma Tone, and September’s Matching Rolexes with Kino Beats. He even released the EP Financial District as an NFT in celebration of 4/20. Don’t be surprised in a couple more projects from Curren$y arrive before the new year.
