Late last year, Skillibeng set the streets on fire with the single “Crocodile Teeth,” which eventually caught the attention of Nicki Minaj and spawned a big remix as a result. Over the weekend, the Jamaican talent decided to drop off a new project of the same name, complete with 12 tracks and assists from Stefflon Don, Popcaan, Rich The Kid, Spice, Davianah, Lil Zack, and Bobby Shmurda — the last of whom joins Skillibeng on another remix of “Crocodile Teeth.”
In addition to the new project comes a two-for-one visual for the singles “Piana” and “Beethoven,” both of which see him delivering some hard-hitting bars over creeping, piano-driven production:
“Mi gun pop off, yuh know I bumboclaat kill, thunda ball, hear di fucka ball, when di 16 cloth, every road lock off, shoot up di wheel an puncha car … piana, piana, suh mi play wit di trigga like piana, shot nyam up dem skin like piranha, piana … seh dem dark but wi darka, bat dem weh like trilanca…”
The first half of the aforementioned clip mixes between shots of a well-dressed Skillibeng playing the keys while out in a field and ballet dancers moving gracefully around apparent slaves in the midst of an escape. Viewers then see Skillibeng in full-on military mode, at war against unseen enemies.
Crocodile Teeth LP follows a wealth of loose singles and collaborations from Skillibeng, including “Money Tree,” “Grade 1,” “Internet War,” “Soso Badniss,” “Time With You” with Laza Morgan, “Mission,” “East Syde” with Quenga and F.S., and “Wollan” with Unknown T. Back in May, he dropped off The Prodigy: Ladies Only Edition, which contained 21 songs and notable contributions from Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, Honey Milan, Shotta G, Projexx, and more.
