Today (Oct. 1), Rich The Kid and Lil Wayne teamed up for the joint effort Trust Fund Babies, which contains 10 cuts and a single assist from YG on “Buzzin’.” In addition to the full-length release, the Atlanta-to-New Orleans duo also liberated a visual for the opening track “Feeling Like Tunechi,” a LabCook-produced offering that sees the artists referencing Weezy’s over-the-top lifestyle:
“Turn your wife to a groupie, he got smoked like a loosie, ride the wraith like a hoopty, I been feelin’ like, I been feelin’ like Tunechi, coming live from the 5-0-4, bad bitch in my mentions with a mill on the floor, Big Tunechi, I can’t ride in the Mazi’ no more, young niggas still grindin’, I’m the muhfuckin’ GOAT…”
Directed by Arrad, the accompanying clip for “Feeling Like Tunechi” begins with Rich The Kid and Wayne pulling up to an alleyway in a bright red McLaren before switching to a re-creation of one of the most notable moments in hip hop history — when Wayne was forced to do a deposition in 2012 in regards to a documentary lawsuit. There’s plenty of other cool scenes and CGI moments, but one would imagine that the aforementioned deposition parody would be the big take.
For Rich The Kid, Trust Fund Babies follows this past January’s Lucky 7, which saw seven songs and contributions from DaBaby, SipTee, Lil Mosey, Rubi Rose, Flo Milli, Latto, Quavo, and Takeoff. More recently, he’s dropped off some top tier loosies like “Richard Mille Patek,” “Boss Bitch” with Coi Leray, and “Prada” (along with his Polo G-assisted remix) — presumably, this all means that a solo effort can’t be too far into the distance. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne has been on an absolute tear from a feature standpoint, giving flashes of his mixtape era with collaborations alongside the likes of G-Eazy, Logic, Run The Jewels, Moneybagg Yo, AZ, Tyler, The Creator, Drake, and Westside Gunn, among a wealth of others.
