This past June, hip hop vets Black Eyed Peas delivered their eighth studio album TRANSLATION, which saw 15 tracks from the west coast trio and a slew of assists from Shakira, J Balvin, Ozuna, Maluma, Tyga, French Montana, and more. As some of the guests reveal, the project also saw a lot of inspiration from Latin and Reggaetón influences. For their latest, the group delivers a new visual from the project for “ACTION,” which is produced by DJ Snake and keeps with the upbeat, celebratory vibe heard throughout their latest release:

“N***a ‘bout to go, go Rambo, feelin’ like cobra, commando, up in the spot took mo’ shots, now I’m ‘bout to reload the ammo, live life like a vandal…”

The accompanying video comes courtesy of will.i.am, Pasha Shapiro, and Ernst Weber, and pays homage to classic Bollywood films by using deep fake technology to land the rappers in movies like Maryada Ramanna, Robot, Ambala, and Enthrian. In an attached message, Black Eyed Peas reveal their love for Indian film:

“The Black Eyed Peas have been inspired by Indian culture from the beginning of our career…From Asha Bhosle to A.R Rahman, Indian music has influenced our songs on more than one occasion…This video for ACTION shows our LOVE and appreciation for BOLLYWOOD and the imagination and awesomeness it brings to the screen…”

Prior to TRANSLATION, Black Eyed Peas dropped the more hip hop-oriented Masters of the Sun Vol. 1, which saw the group returning to the sounds heard on their first two releases Behind The Front and Bridging The Gap. Masters of the Sun Vol. 1 also marked their latest release under Interscope, having since partnered with Epic Records for their newest drops.
