Last year, Brooklyn rapper PHresher dropped off the hard-hitting single “All The Smoke,” a track that looked to repeat the same successes as past releases like “Wait A Minute” and the Cardi B-assisted “Right Now” thanks to it’s high energy production and infectious lyrics:
“You can tell all your folks, somebody tell the priest, might wanna call the Pope, I got that bread on me/
We in the mall with toast, so fresh and so clean clean, nigga bought all the soap, gotta feed the fam, take care of all the woes/
F*** you and your stylist, already got all the dope, first she ain’t want a n***a, now she wan’ call the most, now I don’t need your help, you can take all your rope/
I’m running this s*** like a principal, you running in place on ellipticals, my daddy raised me by different rules, show love but don’t get the reciprocal/”
Now, “All The Smoke” gets a big upgrade, with PHresher recruiting fellow Brooklynite Fivio Foreign and North Carolina star Stunna 4 Vegas for the remix. The new version also comes with a Qasquiat-directed clip that sees the collaborators and their attractive friends turning all the way up in a small bar, much to the delight of everyone else present.
This year has seen PHresher dropping loosies left and right, giving fans plenty of tunes to enjoy during quarantine — “Bout Time,” “Gawd Damn,” “Mamba Sauce,” and the Noa Myles-assisted “Nasty Work” are just some of those singles released. Most recently, he put most of those songs together and added some new cuts to create the Brick By Brick EP, which, in addition to “All The Smoke (Remix)” and it features, sees appearances from Casanova, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and YellowTapee.
