Tyga clearly isn’t letting the world’s current woes stop his party. Over the weekend, the California star dropped off a new single titled “Vacation,” which sees Tyga talking his usual YOLO talk over production from CashMoneyAP and Aly Baig:
“N***as wanna pop off, come on, take the top off, n***a, this inspiration, T-Raww, movie star, got a few actress in rotation/
Might gotta run for the man, need Hollywood star, n***a, stop the baitin’, diamonds on me, hydration, I’m the s***, exclamation/
N***as wanna be like Mike, fly like Mike, wanna be cold as ice, wanna take flight from the free-throw, n***as ain’t cut-throat, n***a I roll the dice/
2-4-7-3-6-5, n***a I shine, ‘cause I grind like every night, woah, vibe, oh, my…/”
The track also sees a colorful visual courtesy of Tyga, Frank Borin, and Ivanna Borin. The clip begins with Tyga floating over the ocean before making CGI switches to different scenarios, including a retro-styled ride out in the valley, a big boardroom business deal in session, and performing on a fiery basketball court. Adding to the promo is an apparent hotline that fans can call to express what their ideal “vacation” would be, giving them a chance to win just that:
Focused on the fun over the chaos, Tyga’s been spending the better part of 2020 releasing dope collaborations with new artists and veterans alike, including Usher’s “California,” Scott Storch’s “Fuego Del Calor,” and Curtis Roach’s runaway smash “Bored In The House.”
Following the tragic passing of George Floyd, Tyga could be seen joining his fellow celebrity peers on the streets during the protests that took over L.A. and other major cities around the country. He’s also used his social media platform to push the need for voting in the upcoming election:
“TIME IS NOW TO STAND UP. FIGHT BACK!! VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!! PROTEST, SCREAM, SHOUT, BE HEARD, BE SEEN, DONATE!! SUPPORT THE ONES IN THE FIELD & FAMILIES AFFECTED. LETS KEEP THIS ENERGY! WE STRONGER TOGETHER! WE NEED PEOPLE IN POWER TO FEEL US. CHANGE THESE WAYS.”
