Tyga is showing support for A$AP Rocky.
Yesterday (July 11), the California native went on Instagram to announce that his upcoming show in Sweden has been canceled. He vaguely explains that he did it to support Rocky.
“I have decided to cancel my show,” he wrote. “I will not be performing in Sweden this Sunday, July 14.” At the end of the message, he wrote: #freeasaprocky.
We also reported that Rocky canceled some of his upcoming performances that were scheduled later this month. Rocky has canceled his performance for Splash! Fest in Germany on July 12 and concerts in Ukraine and Belgium on July 13 and July 14. In addition to that, he also canceled his sold-out gig in Milan on July 17 and two other shows on the 20th and 21st.
Following Rocky’s arrest earlier this month, a petition has been created in an effort to help with the rapper’s release. There are over 555,000 signatures with a goal of 1 million. Many others have offered their support including Sheck Wes, A$AP Ferg, Nicki Minaj and more.
As for Tyga, he is focused on the music. Earlier this week, he released his visual for his latest track, “Lightskin Lil Wayne,” which serves as a tribute to his mentor. Throughout the four-minute video, Tyga reenacts Wayne’s viral videos including “A Milli,” “Lollipop” and “Fireman.”
Shortly after the release of Tyga’s video, Wayne explained how thankful he was in a post uploaded to Instagram.
“Love!!!!!! That’s too dope bro. I’m at a lost for words after watching & listening to that! It feels gratifying to be honored in such a way! It feels uber better when it’s from ya broski!! Love @tyga – Light Skinned Tunechi!” he wrote as the caption.
