Tink has joined the list of fellow artists who decided to show appreciation fans with the best gift they can share: new music. The Chicago artist’s new EP A Gift and a Curse is equipped with seven new songs, including ones like “CAP” and “Motives.” On the project’s second track “Bottom Bitch,” Tink delivers some words about heartbreak:

Tryna please a n***a almost made me lose my mind. I don’t know what’s real no more, they in disguise. Even though we done I wouldn’t put you through no pain. But it hurt my heart to know you don’t feel the same. I took them risks with you, hmm. I was your bottom bitch, yeah. You broke my heart, now the situation’s messy, and I hate myself for the way I let you disrespect me.

Prior to this new project release, Tink shared her other 2020 project release Hopeless Romantic, which was also released on a holiday (Valentine’s Day). In 2020, Tink also released her single “Perfect.” Before that was 2019’s Voicemails, which included a lone feature from Dej Loaf.

As Tink fans may know, the artist signed to Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group at a young age and has felt the need to break free. “At the time when I was going through being released, that was all I thought about: ‘I sat down for two years under a label and I honestly felt more free when I was by myself,’” she says in one of her more recent interviews. However, after being in limbo for a few years, her artist spirit isn’t broken and she’s still up for the journey. “I’m not scarred though,” she adds. “If they come with the right situation and it’s something that I think would help my career in a lot of ways instead of hurting it. Right now, I’m enjoying the ride.”
