Just before Halloween, Busta Rhymes unveiled his tenth studio album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, which boasts 22 dope cuts and a wealth of features from Chris Rock, M.O.P., Q-Tip, Rick Ross, Anderson .Paak, Rapsody, Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and more. This week, he drops off another visual from the project for the DJ Scratch-produced “Boomp!,” which sees the New York legend reinforcing his position as one of hip hop’s kings:
“New endeavors, we do whatever, we glue the deficit, seizes the sideline, n***a, come on, look, see how we go back, diggin’ the soul out thе bitch, come on, found a way to escape, comе on/”
Co-directed by Benny Boom, Busta can be seen in top form from within his palace in the sky, as beautiful women roam throughout. He can also be seen feeding asparagus to dolphins from his supervillain-sized Conglomerate yacht, making for one of the most lavish — albeit CGI — experiences on film.
After having already delivered a Reloaded version of his new album (which included the Eminem-assisted “Calm Down”), this weekend saw Busta drop off a proper deluxe release of Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God that added four additional tracks and new assists from TRILLIAN, the iconic Flipmode Squad, and more. All-in-all, the most updated edition sees a whopping 30 songs, which should keep fans of Busta Rhymes well-fed through the holidays.
In a recent appearance on REVOLT’s “The Fat Joe Show,” Busta Rhymes revealed his feelings while in the midst of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.’s unfortunate feud:
“You know how we was raised Crack. When you know and your friends with two people that are conflicting, you supposed to be the neutralizer… You’re supposed to be the one to try to do whatever you can to squash it. You ain’t supposed to pick no side.”
