Baby Grizzley treated fans to his single “Add It Up” earlier this month, and now he has made a swift return, this time with Tee Grizzley by his side. In the duo’s new track “Twin Grizzley’s,” the two waste no time trading bars:
Y’all can lie to Instagram, y’all can’t lie to me. Shooters got they passports, we thuggin’ overseas. We’ll burn something, I ain’t talkin’ STDs. Call the plug like I’m locked out the house and it’s the keys. Told bro take that shit to trial, don’t take a plea. The lawyer said it’s lookin’ good but ain’t no guarantee. I still can’t believe I used to run with these, I was lookin’ at my watch and I woulda killed for one of these.
Back in June, Tee Grizzley unveiled his latest project The Smartest, which saw 17 cuts and features from Queen Naija, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Lil Keed, and more. This year he also made an appearance on Berner’s newest project Russ Bufalino: The Quiet Don on the track “R.I.P.,” and its music video. He also lobbed an assist to $tupid Young on his track “Wit A Sticc,” to Jackboy on “Married To My Enemies,” and to TMG FRE$H on “Champagne Cry.” Around the same time he dropped his project, he also released “Mr. Officer” featuring Queen Naija and members from the Detroit Youth Choir, a song about the Black lives lost at the hands of the police.
In an interview with SPIN, Tee Grizzley shared his best advice on how to rise above your circumstances as an artist:
“Be as creative as possible, don’t half step nothing, as far as videos, studio you going to, your beats, nothing, don’t half step it, do the best you can do. And just keep putting it out there, stay consistent with that sh*t. And one day it’s gonna catch, because you gonna build up this fanbase that’s gonna be f**king with you. Boom. But don’t try to mimic nobody else, it’s already everybody out there. So be you.”
