This Friday (November 20), Jeezy will liberate his tenth studio album The Recession 2, the presumed sequel to 2008’s The Recession. Following the release of the Yo Gotti-assisted “Back,” the Atlanta hip hop legend returns with “Therapy For My Soul,” which is produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and sees Jeezy getting very in-depth with certain relationship conflicts experienced throughout his career:

“If you ask me what happened with Kink, we grew apart, tried to sue, he took me to court, shit broke my heart, same n***a you made a millionnaire, sue you for millions, made man and he want it all, none for my children/

If One-Five wasn’t my dawg, I would’ve touched them, when that shit went down with Gibbs, I couldn’t trust ‘em, invested my hard earn money, tied up my bread, but he gon’ try to tell you I’m flawed, that’s in his head…/”

The new single has already garnered a response from Freddie Gibbs, who took to social media to give his take on the relationship:

In related news, Jeezy is also gearing up for his “Verzuz” battle against Gucci Mane, a scenario that many in the culture would have never imagined given their history both in and out of music. Expected to take place tomorrow (November 19), Gucci Mane has already been raising eyebrows with various taunts toward his opponent before the big event.

In regards to his LP discography, The Recession 2 will follow last year’s TM104: The Legend of the Snowman, which boasted 18 cuts and assists from CeeLo Green, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Queen Naija, Gunna, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, and more. The album landed Jeezy a top five placement on the Billboard 200, thanks to just under 50,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
