Dallas’ very own Yella Beezy just dropped his newest single “Solid” featuring 42 Dugg. The new song features the two rappers trading bars over a Monstah-produced beat.
Back in May, Yella Beezy dropped off his joint project with Trapboy Freddy titled “I’m My Brother’s Keeper.” The 12-track project included features from Jose Bodega and LaChyna. Prior to that was 2019’s Baccend Beezy, which saw some big features from names like Chris Brown, Too $hort, Young Thug, and K. Michelle. He was also a part of a fan favorite hit, Rubi Rose’s “Hit Yo Dance” featuring NLE Choppa.
42 Dugg certainly had a busy 2020. He dropped Young & Turnt 2 earlier this year in March, with the first installment of Y&T delivered the year prior, and then swung back around to drop the deluxe version in June. Young & Turnt 2 saw features from Dej Loaf, Moneybagg Yo, Babyface Ray, Lil Baby, Yo Gotti, Baby Money, and Coach Joey. His shining moment of this year was definitely his memorable feature on Lil Baby’s “We Paid,” which was a standout track from Baby’s My Turn album. 42 Dugg most recently provided an assist on Lakeyah’s “Big FlexHer” single.
In an interview with REVOLT from earlier this year, Yella Beezy spoke about what kind of legacy he wanted to leave behind:
“I want to create a bigger legacy, somebody you’re going to talk about and remember forever. Through kids. You know how Michael Jackson’s name lives on? Two-year-old, three-year-old kids know who Michael Jackson is. He’s been dead for how long? He’s been dead damn near 10 years and little kids know who he is. That’s a legacy. I have to find that route. Whatever the route is, I have to take it and do it.”
