This week, Lil Baby teased a new single aimed at police brutality and revealed that he and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms are working together on a new reform effort. The My Turn rapper hopped on Instagram with a powerful message of “Stand for something or fall for anything” and shared the news.

“United We Stand Divided We Fall!” he wrote. “In Favor Of Atlanta Mayor [Keisha Bottoms] Me And EVERY TEAM I’m associated with are putting a plan together for Atlanta [and] the whole world.”

Lil Baby’s post arrived just days before Mayor Bottoms accepted Barack Obama’s “challenge” to continue the momentum of the ongoing George Floyd protests to create legislative change.

“Atlanta accepts the challenge Barack Obama,” she tweeted. “I will issue an Executive Order establishing a Commission of stakeholders and organizers to examine our use of force policies and call upon them to make recommendations accordingly. Thank you for your leadership.”

As for Lil Baby calling upon his “teams,” the Atlanta native oversees his 4PF and Wolfpack label imprints, clothing brand and more — not to mention his friends at Quality Control. The rapper’s post suggests that he’ll be harnessing the power of these groups and more to introduce a new reform effort.

Lil Baby also teased his upcoming single on the ‘Gram, but hasn’t offered an official release date.

“I find it crazy that police will shoot you and know that you dead, but then tell you to freeze,/ Fu*ked up, I seen what I seen / I guess that mean hold him down if he say he can’t breathe / There’s too many mothers that’s grieving,” he could be heard rapping during an Instagram Story snippet.

Lil Baby has been investing in his Atlanta community since making it big and recently launched the My Turn Scholarship Fund at his old high school.

“The main thing I want to pass on to these kids is they’re the future,” he said in an interview with Amazon Music. “You don’t really feel that you’re gonna be a leader of the world one day. I didn’t understand that. But now I do.”
